You decide the start of your New Year 🌈
We often get dictated when the new year starts. Most of the time we start then start our resolutions. In a previous blog post I said no to resolutions and yes to plans > read why here.
I heard a commercial on the radio for Stoptober where everyone quits smoking for 28 days (why only 28?), after this then we have the Movember Movement and January the first its “let’s make life all better now”. Don't get me wrong. These are all amazing initiatives and things that you can participate in.
My only question is why only then? After these months we all tend to forget these initiatives. I'm not going to question these great things, but I am going to question the "let's make it all better now" new years resolutions. Why? You’re setting yourself up for failure from the start.
A few months ago I wanted to launch a new collection, make a flower garden, do yoga, wake up early and so much more. I found out that it's better is to look at what you want to achieve and then make a list. Break that list up and tackle things one by one. If you fail, it’s okay. No need to wait for the end of the year. Just start again right away. What I learned is that it’s better to focus on one thing and get that done, before moving to the next. Then you’ll see results :). And you do not have to wait for the new year to start. Start right now!
